BEIJING, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang urged accuracy and authenticity in data collection of the country's third national agricultural census that began on Sunday.

During an inspection in a village in Gaoliying Township, northeastern Beijing, Wang said on-site registration lies at the core of agricultural census and all the work should be done with meticulous attention.

Census takers should ensure no repetition or omission, with information accurate and complete, and original data authentic, Wang said.

Wang also highlighted information privacy to protect surveyed farmers and businesses.

The census is scheduled to finish by the end of March, involving 5 million census takers, more than 200 million rural households and over 3 million businesses and other market entities.
