Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen met with the delegation of Zimbabwean Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development led by Ms. Prisca Mupfumira, Zimbabwean Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, and officials of the World Food Program (WFP) in Beijing on November 24, 2016. They exchanged views on enhancing the China-WFP-Zimbabwe tripartite agricultural cooperation and the China-Zimbabwe bilateral partnership.
Vice Minister Yu noted that China and Zimbabwe enjoy profound traditional friendship, and agriculture has always been an important area of bilateral collaboration.

Over recent years, the two countries have conducted pragmatic cooperation in agricultural technologies, trade and investment, among others, and gained outstanding achievements.

The Chinese side is ready to facilitate the sustainable development of the China-aided agro-technology demonstration center in Zimbabwe, and strengthen agricultural human resource and S&T exchanges as well as trade and investment cooperation.

Minister Mupfumira appreciated China for its long-standing understanding and assistance to the Zimbabwean government and people.

She said that the Zimbabwean delegation now has a better understanding of China's agricultural and rural development, and policies and experience of social security which are quite worth learning.

She hoped that the China-WFP-Zimbabwe pragmatic cooperation and the China-Zimbabwe bilateral partnership could be further promoted, including upgrading the agricultural mechanization and information system in Zimbabwe.
