Vice Minister Qu Dongyu attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the US-China Agriculture and Food Seminar in Washington, D.C., USA on Nov. 22, 2016.

Vice Minister Qu noted that, thanks to the unremitting efforts, food production in China has gone beyond the stage of feeding people with sufficient food and is moving towards the stage of feeding its population of 1.3 billion with quality and safe food. Thus, we are still facing an arduous task and bearing grave responsibility.

Vice Minister Qu indicated that China and US enjoy great potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food. He suggested that the two sides deepen cooperation in extending the industrial chain and the value chain and improving supply chain management in agriculture to create a platform for all-round cooperation among government organizations, research institutions and enterprises, and to forge a mutually-beneficial partnership in agriculture and food.

The Seminar was jointly hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and U.S.-China Business Council and was attended by over 200 delegates from government departments and agriculture and food business of the two countries.
