Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Mihail Cvetkov, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of Macedonia, in Kunming, Yunnan on Nov. 5, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening agricultural cooperation between China and Macedonia.
Minister Han extended his welcome and gratitude to Mr. Cvetkov for his visit to China and his participation in the Meeting of China-CEEC Ministers of Agriculture and International Forum on Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Kunming. Minister Han pointed out that, in recent years, China-Macedonia agricultural trade has developed steadily with fruitful results. The two sides should better leverage the multilateral platforms, such as the China-CEEC Agro-trade & Economic Cooperation Forum and the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and CEE Countries, to establish and improve the bilateral mechanisms for agricultural cooperation. The two countries should also promote agricultural trade and conduct hybrid rice technology cooperation and personnel exchanges.
Mr. Cvetkov agreed to Minister Han's suggestions and expressed his willingness to promote the establishment of bilateral mechanism for agricultural cooperation, learn from China's technology and experience in hybrid rice production, and enhance agricultural production capacity in Macedonia.
