7th Roundtable Meeting on ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Cooperation Strategy held in Beijing

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the 7th Roundtable Meeting on ASEAN and China, Japan and Korea (ASEAN Plus Three) Food Security Cooperation Strategy was held in Beijing on June 28, 2016.

 

The theme of the meeting was to promote agricultural program investment and ensure regional food security. The agenda items included policy exchanges and mechanism coordination, technological cooperation and capacity building, agricultural infrastructure construction and investment facilitation, among others.

 

The delegates to the meeting reached consensuses in the following areas: intensifying policy coordination, improving environmental development, giving full play to the guiding role of technological cooperation, jointly promoting agricultural investment and building a multi-tiered food security system. The discussion of business representatives focused on seed technology, food processing and storage, as well as other important agricultural production links. They also exchanged views on agricultural cooperation park construction, financing patterns, transboundary collaboration, and so on.

 

Totally more than 80 delegates attended the meeting, including officials, experts and businessmen from ASEAN Plus Three countries and representatives of the World Food Program.
