Lallemand to present the benefits of live yeast on sow feed intake at IPPE

The results of a meta-analysis showing that Saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii CNCM I-1079 helps increase sow feed intake during lactation, will be presented at Technology XChange at the International Processing and Production Expo (IPPE), in Atlanta, Georgia.

The meta-analysis shows the results of 10 commercial trials throughout Europe and North America. Sows supplemented with S. cerevisiae boulardii CNCM I-1079 showed significant increase in feed intake during lactation in comparison to sows who were not supplemented.

"This meta-analysis was conducted in order to bring a quantitative evaluation on the effect of the live yeast on sow feed intake in lactation," says Eric Chevaux, Applied R&D Manager, Lallemand Animal Nutrition. "Saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii CNCM I-1079 helps improve sow feed intake by balancing the microbiota of the digestive system."

Dr. Chevaux will be presenting the study on January 26 at 3:30-3:50 p.m. in Hall A at the Georgia World Congress Center. Lallemand Animal Nutrition will be located at Booth 2320 in Hall A.
