China's October wheat imports 52.8% higher than September

   

   

   

China's wheat imports in October this year rose 52.8% more than deliveries in September, at 315,738 tonnes. Most of these products were sourced from the US, its top supplier, and Australia.

   

   

In October, Chinese imports included 172,636 tonnes of durum wheat and 143,102 tonnes for other grades. The US is the biggest supplier with 214,927 tonnes, followed by Australia (71,927 tonnes), Canada (26,740 tonnes) and Kazakhstan (2,145 tonnes).

   

   

In the same month, corn imports plunged 72% from September's volume, at 42,877 tonnes, and becoming the lowest volume for 2015 since 50,557 tonnes in March.

   

   

Laos is largest source for China's corn, with overland imports at 28,644 tonnes.
