Higher cost, tight supply strengthen China lysine prices

Lysine prices rose substantially during the week ending November 24.

Rising corn prices lent support to the prices of lysine as producers stood firm amid higher production costs. While supplies tightened as several major manufacturers in China continued to halt production or limit output, producers jumped on the opportunity to lift price quotes over the week.

For imported 98.5-percent lysine, transacted prices were significantly higher at RMB9.40-9.90/kg.
