Further rise in China lysine prices on tight supply, improving demand

Lysine prices increased further during the week ending December 8.

Several plants in China continued to halt operation, tightening supplies of lysine. While the costs of corn climbed higher, lysine producers lifted prices further as the demand for hog feed strengthened. Meanwhile, snowstorms and heavy rains hampered lysine deliveries, pushing prices even higher in some regions.

Lysine market will stay firm as long as producers limit output while corn prices move higher.
