Minister Han Changfu meets Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry & Food

Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Dejan Židan, visiting Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry & Food and head of Slovenian delegation to the 13th China Agriculture Trade Fair, in Fuzhou, Fujian Province on November 7, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening agricultural cooperation.
Minister Han noted that China and Slovenia have maintained close cooperation in agriculture. The two countries enjoy respective features in agriculture and hold great potentials for further collaboration in wine-making technologies, apiculture, food regulation, as well as animal and dairy product processing, among others. In order to enhance bilateral agricultural collaboration, Minister Han put forward the following suggestions: first, improve agricultural exchange and cooperation mechanisms for pragmatic cooperation; second, build up effective platforms to boost agricultural trade; third, organize diversified and wide-ranged activities to step up exchanges and cooperation between research institutes of the two sides; fourth, leverage multilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the China-CEE Agro-trade & Economic Cooperation Forum and the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and CEE Countries to reinforce collaboration.
Mr. Dejan Židan fully agreed with Minister Han, saying that Slovenia is ready to work with China to further strengthen the pragmatic agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and Chief Economist Bi Meijia also attended the meeting.
