1. To develop mixed formulations with wide weeding spectrum
Pesticide effervescent agent enjoys advantages when being applied in aquatic crops like rice, water chestnut and lotus root compared to other formulations. Based on the diversity of weed species, developing high-efficacy herbicides that can control and prevent most of gramineae weeds and broad-leaf weeds as well as control part of Cyperus rotundus L. and then processing into disposable herbicide PP after being mixed with effervescent agent is good for agricultural production.
For instance, in 2013, Shandong Jinan Kesai Agrochem Co., Ltd. first registered 16.5% pretilachlor·pyrazosulfuron-ethyl PP (Product name: Yipaole), leading a new wave. Pyrazosulfuron-ethyl belongs to sulfonylurea herbicides, which can prevent and control most of broad-leaf weeds and Cyperus rotundus L. in paddy fields. However, its effect is poor in controlling gramineae weeds. Pretilachlor is amides herbicide, which can effectively prevent and control annual gramineae weeds.
What's more, it is one of the specific herbicides in controlling and preventing barnyardgrass and Chinese sprangletop in paddy fields. Systemic active ingredients have advantages when being processed into effervescent agent. Research shows that nanoscale 25% triadimefon PP's efficacy on controlling powdery mildew of wheat is significantly better than that of 25% triadimefon WP. The triadimefon in the nanoscale 25% triadimefon PP can be easier combined with adjuvants. Its suspension rate can be highly increased. Furthermore, the systemic triadimefon has stronger permeability on pathogenic bacterium, possesses good efficacy and improves the utilization of pesticides.
3. To solve technical problems
Overcoming the hygroscopicity of pesticide effervescent agent is the key problem during the production, storing and transportation. Besides, during the packing period, how to control the humidity of environment effectively is the biggest difficulty.
In general, the humidity should be strictly controlled at less than 50%. Polyethylene foil should be adopted as inner packing or the pesticide will be ineffective when being deliquesced. In the past, China's pesticide effervescent agents could not meet the above requirements. They were easy to become ineffective due to packing problem. Only when the problem is solved, can the product occupy the market. In addition, the disintegration and diffusivity of pesticide effervescent agent should be very strong to evenly control and prevent the weeds.
