China methionine prices rise as sellers stand firm
Prices of methionine rebounded during the week ending August 24.
Methionine market strengthened of late as local producers lifted price quotes while one global producer halted price releases.
During July, China imported 14,572 tonnes of methionine, higher by 16% on-month.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were in the range of RMB35-35.50/kg.
Distributors will continue to adjust the prices of methionine higher to compensate for increased import costs due to the depreciation of renminbi.
