Australia - Bayer CropScience Head of New Business Development awarded AUSVEG Industry Leader honourAustralia - Bayer CropScience Head of New Business Development awarded AUSVEG Industry Leader honour" title="Share this link on Facebook">AustraliaJuly 17, 2015Richard Dickmann, Head of New Business Development at Bayer CropScience has been awarded the prestigious Industry Leader Award at the 2015 AUSVEG National Awards for Excellence.Having served on numerous advisory panels that have been instrumental in the direction of research and development, Richard was recognised for his abiding service to Australian horticulture, and his long term contributions to the vegetable industry.Richard was both humbled and honoured to receive the industry accolade at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner late last month.“In accepting this award I would like to acknowledge Bayer, in particular, the dedicated Horticulture team and the fantastic work they do every day of the year,” said Richard.“Our industry contribution is based on our local mission – Advancing Australian Agriculture – and whilst we know that everything starts with farmers, collaboration throughout the food chain is key in getting food to consumers.”At the awards ceremony, Richard highlighted the importance of this collaboration to maintain and grow consumer confidence.“At Bayer, we believe that if we can add value along the food chain, it will not only benefit agriculture as a whole, but it will also benefit farmers and in time we hope it benefits us.“I would like to recognise AUSVEG for their great understanding and support of this holistic view, but I would also like to thank the farmers who inspire us every day with their resilience and creativity that ultimately delivers new innovations worthy of this great industry,” said Richard.The 2015 National Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner was held at Jupiters Gold Coast on Saturday 27 June and honoured growers and other members of the Australian vegetable, potato, apple and pear industries for outstanding achievements in their respective fields.AUSVEG is the leading horticultural body representing Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.More news from:.
