Exosect Ltd.takes legal action against Bayer CropScience for patent infringementExosect Ltd.takes legal action against Bayer CropScience for patent infringement" title="Share this link on Facebook">Winchester, United KingdomApril 1, 2015Exosect Ltd, a leading provider of enabling technologies, has commenced legal proceedings against Bayer CropScience Inc. for infringement of its Canadian patent (CA2861526), granted on 3rd February 2015.The patent relates to, among other things, the use of synthetic waxes, such as polyethylene wax, as a lubricant/fluency agent to improve the flowability of plant seeds and reduce the risk of dust drift. This technology brings forward significant improvements in seed flow lubricants. In Canada, the majority of corn and soybean crops use a neonicotinoid insecticide seed treatment. Such treated seeds must be applied using seed flow lubricants such as those in the Exosect patent, which replace talc and graphite. Talc and graphite are no longer permitted because they were found to detach easily from the seed to create insecticide-containing dust. This legal action has potential implications for the broader supply chain as such uses of the product in question may infringe the patent.About EntostatEntostat is a non-hygroscopic electrostatic micro-powder that can be produced in a range of sizes and shapes. It can be formulated into microencapsulate synthetic active ingredients offering controlled release and to support biological active ingredients on its surface by electrostatic attraction.Entostat readily gains an electrostatic charge, consequently it adheres to a range of surfaces including, grains and seeds, insects & animals, and building fabric. It can deliver active ingredients at a reduced application rates with equivalent or improved efficacy.About ExosectExosect was launched in 2001 to develop proprietary platforms technologies, initially for agriculture. The company has developed an in-depth knowledge and extensive patent portfolio of the platforms as targeted delivery mechanisms for a range of active ingredients, biological and synthetic.Today, the technology is enabling our partners across a range of sectors to realise the efficient delivery of their active ingredients, helping them to overcome issues such as pest resistance, regulatory controls and residues within the food chain.Exosect is focussed on the Agriculture, Public Health and Animal Health sectors.Latest Health Canada documents on use with Neonicotinoids can be found following these linksPollinator Protection and Responsible Use of Treated Seed - Best Management Practiceshttp://www.cnchemicals.com/ when using Treated Corn / Soybean Seedhttp://www.cnchemicals.com/ Video – Entostat cf Talchttp://www.cnchemicals.com/ news from:.
