Brazil's Agroceres takes over Multimix
Consolidation continues in the Brazilian animal nutrition industry with Agroceres' purchase of Multimix.
Agroceres has a strong presence in the market for pig products and supplements and is also active in petfood, among other areas. It also has pig genetics and seed divisions, but feed accounts for the majority of its business. Multimix is particularly active in poultry feeds, but also offers pig and cattle feed.
The new company will be known as Agroceres Multimix, and will operate four production sites, including three in Sao Paulo and one in Minas Gerais. A number of companies are reported to have been interested in purchasing Multimix. Terms of the agreement with Agroceres were not disclosed.
