J.Rettenmaier & S??hne (JRS) has organised the seminar "Insoluble raw fibre concentrates: a new approach to performance, health and litter quality" which was attended by more than 60 animal nutrition specialists from more than 25 countries.

   

   

Internationally speakers addressed the issues of the moment in dietary fibre in animal feedand highlighted the success story of raw fibre concentrates.

   

   

Astrid Bosse, member of the BU Animal Nutrition Team opened the seminar with a brief introduction about advantages of raw fibre concentrates for all parties involved. Afterwards Mohamad Hafez a well-known veterinary poultry specialist from the Free University of Berlin pointed out the different causes of bad litter and their influence on poultry health. The importance of high fibre diets on gut fill, behaviour and productivity in broiler breeders was addressed by Sanna Steenfeldt from the Aarhus University, Denmark. On the basis of poultry performance trials with ARBOCEL, Mohamad T. Farran (American University of Beirut, Lebanon) concluded that ARBOCEL had beneficial effects on litter quality, broiler carcass yield and protein as well as amino acid digestibility.
