China, Cuba launches Moringa S&T Cooperation Center

China-Cuba Moringa Science & Technology Cooperation Center was launched in Yunnan Tropical Crop Research Institute on April 11, 2014. Chinese Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu, Cuban Ambassador Mr. Alberto Jesus Blanco Silva, Yunnan Deputy Party Secretary Qiu He, and several other senior officials attended the launching ceremony.
Moringa S&T research,a key area of China-Cuba agricultural cooperation, is of huge potentials and attracts great interests of the two countries.
At the ceremony, both China and Cuba pointed out the significance of the Center in Moringa joint research and application.
In addition, the two sides also decided to conduct wide-ranged cooperation, including building Moringa Demonstration Park, germplasm exchange, breeding, improved
cultivation technologies and
pest control, multiple utilization of Moringa products, particularly used as animal feed, exchange and training of
technical staff, and so forth.
Moreover, both sides agreed on building a counterpart Moringa center in Cuba later.
