Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen meets Argentine Agricultural Secretary Gabriel Delgado

Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen met with Mr. Gabriel Delgado, the Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Argentine Republic and his delegation in Beijing on May 29, 2014. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, livestock and fisheries between China and Argentina.
At the meeting, Yu stated that, as always, China takes a strategic perspective when developing friendly ties with Argentina, and the two ministries have maintained close and friendly cooperation for years.
Over years, China and Argentina have witnessed sound development momentum in agricultural cooperation with practical and deepened cooperation in some areas. All these show the strong commitment of the two ministries to closer cooperation and their pragmatic workstyle.
To further bilateral agricultural cooperation and bring it to a higher level, Yu proposed that the two sides will continue to give full play to China-Argentina joint commission on agriculture and its working groups to intensify agricultural R&D collaboration, and promote agricultural trade and investment in a down-to-earth manner.
Delgado affirmed that the friendship between the two countries is of great importance to promoting bilateral agricultural cooperation, and the Argentine side always takes agricultural cooperation with China as a priority.
Delgado agreed with Yu''s proposal for future cooperation, highlighting that Argentina is willing to enhance cooperation with China in agricultural S&T, biotechnology, seed trade, livestock and fisheries.
