Agrochemical project goes into operation in Nantong development zone

An agrochemical production project of Syngenta, a global agricultural company, went into operation in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), Jiangsu province, on Nov 28.
With a total investment of $52.4 million, the project produces efficient and low-toxicity pesticides. It is expected to reach annual sales revenue of 1.4 billion yuan ($228 million).
Zhang Guohua, mayor of Nantong, had a meeting with the company delegation headed by its CEO Mike Mack at the city administrative center.
The mayor extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He spoke highly of the company''s sustainable development since it settled in the city 15 years ago, voicing his hope that the company can make more contributions to the development of local agriculture. He also promised that the city government will continue to improve its services to facilitate company development.
The CEO appreciated the warm welcome of the city and admired its impressing achievements in economy, transportation and urban construction during the past 15 years. He also highly commended NETDA''s investment environment, expecting to deepen cooperation with the city and make contributions to local development.
