Scrap prices rise in Japanese domestic market

The base prices of H2 scraps increased by ¥500/ton to ¥34,500/ton in the Japanese Kanto region recently.

In Kanto region, Tokyo Stele hiked the scrap purchasing prices at it Utsunomiya plant by ¥500/ton to ¥35,000/ton on March 15th, hitting the lowest level since October, 2011.

Accordingly, most of the blast furnace mills in Kanto region including Asahi Industries Co, Itoh Iron & Steel Co, Godo Steel Ltd, Jonan Steel

Corp, Daisan Steel Co, Chiyoda Steel and Sanko Seiko Co have followed Tokyo Steel to raise H2 scrap prices by ¥1,000/ton to ¥35,000/ton.
