Turkish steelmakers imported 1,278,862 tons of scraps in February, decreasing by 15.6% from a month ago, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first two months of this year, the country's scrap imports amounted to 16.75 million tons, lower than 22.4 million tons in the same period of a year ago.
In the given period of time, the US was the largest scrap exporter to Turkey with 430,144 tons; Romania was the second largest one with 182,346 tons and the UK was the third largest one with 114,986 tons.
