US’s Q1 iron ore output falls by 2% y-o-y

According to data released by the US Geological Survey (USGS), the US iron ore output is estimated to be at 12.5 million tons in the first quarter of this year, falling by 11% from a quarter ago and decreasing by 2% year on year.

Meanwhile, the revised iron ore production totaled 52.2 million tons in 2012, decreasing by around 3% from a year ago.
