US H1 scrap exports fall by 15.5% in Jan-May

According to data, the US exports of H1 scraps and shredded scraps totaled 750,000 tons and 763,000 tons respectively in May.

In the first five months of this year, the US exports of H1 scraps and shredded scraps amounted to 2.796 million tons and 2.553 million tons, falling by 15.5% and 10.6% year on year respectively.

In the given period of time, Turkey was the largest importer of the US H1 scraps with 1.154 million tons, decreasing by 20.9%; Taiwan was the second largest one with 451,000 tons, falling by 28.8% and Korea was the third largest one with 256,000 tons, slumping by 48.3%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.

At the same time, the country's exports of shredded scraps made to Turkey totaled 684,000 tons, down by 8%; those to Taiwan were at 260,000 tons, decreasing by 14.8% and those to China were at 236,000 tons, slumping by 42.1%, all compared to those in the same period of 2012.
