On December 17th, China's Ministry of Finance issued a notice of the 2013 Tariff Implementation Plan, including adjustment of import tariff on some steel products in next year, covering four categories - clad, plated or coated iron or non-alloy steel flat-rolled products over 600mm width, tubular products, as well as alloy steel long products, especially boron-containing product as mostly concerned.

The above adjustments only related to the import tariffs, not yet the export tax.

Analysts believe that the added tax items are preparing for the later introduction of export tax rebate policy on the related products.
