China plans to retain 200-series stainless output

According to the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association (SSC), it has planned to reduce or limit the production output of 200- series because 200-series grades do not conform to global and AISI standards.

Meanwhile, the Chinese government has to consider to establish a supporting the introduction of guidelines and standards for the Chinese stainless industry. However, the Chinese government has persuaded to produce more 300- series instead of 200-series for better environment consideration.

China's 200-series production output total reached ted for 31% in 2012. But the 300-series grade is still the industry's most common, accounting for 49% of total output last year respectively.
