MOC: Average finished steel price remains stable in China

On September 11, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (Sept 2-8) the average finished steel price in China was unchanged week on week.

In particular, in the given week average prices of 16 mm round bar, 1 mm cold rolled sheet and 50 mm x 50 mm equal angle in China increased by 0.2 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent week on week respectively, while the average prices of 3 mm hot rolled sheet and 6.5 mm high speed wire rod in China declined by 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent week on week respectively.

In the week ending September 8, average prices of minerals in China were down 0.2 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average prices of zinc ore, lead ore and copper ore were down 1.8 percent, 1.6 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, all compared to the previous week.

In the given week, average prices of energy in China were up 0.8 percent week on week. The average price of crude oil and metallurgical coke were up by 3.1 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, and the average price of raw coal declined by 1.5 percent, all week on week.
