Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that its BSSF (Baosteel slag short flow) roller slag processing technology and equipment with independent intellectual property rights will be used at the steel production facilities of Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderrgica do Pecm (CSP), marking the successful entry of the technology into the South American market. With the aim of entering the market in question, Baosteel had upgraded and improved the equipment to reduce maintenance costs and to increase the slag treatment capacity.
The technology has already been applied at well-known domestic and foreign steel enterprises such as Maanshan Steel, Handan Steel, Jiuquan Steel, Taiwan-based Dragon Steel, South Korea's POSCO, and at Indian steelmaker JSW, achieving good environmental results.
