According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.828 million short tons of crude steel in the week ended on March 9th, falling by 1.6% from a week earlier while rising by 7.8% year on year.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US steelmaking facilities was at 76.3%, higher than 77.5% in a week ago.
