On 10 Jan., 2019, LG announced the plan to invest a total of USD1.07 billion (KRW1.20 trillion) to construct another 2 battery plants in China by 2020. This is intended to satisfy the increasing battery demand in the world.

In 2018, China delivered a total of 102GWh Li-ion batteries, up by 27% YoY. Of this, power battery made up 63.70% of the total, up by 8.30% YoY.
