Most of the corn seed companies in China was facing revenue decline in 2017 due to shrink of planting area of corn for seed production, restructuring of corn breed examination procedures, and increased competitors in the industry. There was a record high unit output of new corn breed. Scorching weather in the Huang-Huai-Hai Region caused corn crop failure. The government was promoting planting of silage corn and fresh-eaten corn, planting of GM corn was under strict control.
