In 2018, the number of registrations of the top eight active ingredients by number of new fungicide technical registrations in China was 47, accounting for 53% of the total 89 new registrations of fungicide technical.

In 2018, there were 89 new registrations of fungicide technical in China, accounting for 24% of the total pesticide technical registrations. These new registrations belonged to 67 registrants with 45 fungicide active ingredients.

The number of registrations that held by the top four registrants of insecticide technical by number of new registrations in China was 20, accounting for 20% of the total 98 new registrations in 2018.

In 2018, the number of registrations of the top five active ingredients by number of new insecticide technical registrations in China was 40, accounting for 41% of the total 98 new registrations for insects control.

In 2018, there were 98 new registrations of insecticide technical (insecticide for sanitary use included) in China, accounting for 26% of the total 377 new registrations. These new insecticidal registrations belonged to 71 registrants with 51 active ingredients.

The number of registrations that held by the top five registrants of fungicide technical by number of new registrations was 15 in 2018, accounting for 17% of the total 89 new registrations in this category.

In 2018, the total number of registrations that held by the top eight registrants of pesticide technical by number of new registrations in China reached 67.

In 2018, there were 15 new registrations of pesticide technical in China obtained by 10 foreign enterprises.

In 2018, there were 377 new registrations of pesticide technical in China, among which 152 were for herbicide technical, accounting for 40% of the total. These new registrations of herbicide technical belonged to 90 registrants with 68 herbicide active ingredients.

In 2018, the number of registrations of the top six active ingredients by number of new herbicide technical registrations in China was 46, accounting for 30% of the total 152 new registrations in this category.

The number of registrations that held by the top six registrants of herbicide technical by number of new registrations in China reached 29, accounting for 19% of the total 152 new herbicide technical registrations in 2018.

The number of registrations of the top ten active ingredients found in the new pesticide technical approvals in China reached 101 in 2018, accounting for 27% of the total.

There were 184 active ingredients in the 377 new registrations of pesticide technical in 2018 in China. Specifically, 171 active ingredients were found in the 359 new registrations of TC and 13 active ingredients in the 18 new registrations of TK.

Toxic levels of newly registered pesticide technical in 2018 came in five levels, namely low-toxic, slight-toxic, moderate-toxic, high-toxic and extreme-toxic. Among the 377 new registrations, 279 were low-toxic, 51 were slight-toxic and 45 were moderate-toxic, accounting for 74%, 14% and 12% of the total, respectively.

In 2018, there were 11 kinds of newly registered pesticides, namely herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, plant growth regulator, hygienic insecticide, acaricide, rodenticide, molluscicide, acaricide/insecticide, insect sex pheromone, and nematicide. Among these, new herbicide technical registrations had 152 entries, accounting for more than 40% of the total, followed by those for fungicide and insecticide.

In 2018, among all the 377 new registrations of pesticide technical in China, 357 entries were registered to be applied in agriculture and the other 20 were to be used for sanitation concerns, accounting for nearly 95% and 5% of the total respectively.

Among the 377 new registrations of pesticide technical in China in 2018, there were 376 full registrations and 1 temporary registration.

There were 359 technical material (TC) and 18 technical concentrate (TK) new registrations approved in China in 2018.
