On 13 Nov., 2020, the 36th CPIET was held at Chongqing International Expo Center. At the CPIET, the NATESC released the forecast of 2020–2021 major crop pests and diseases and changes in demand for the agrochemicals. It's mentioned that epidemic diseases such as wheat head blight, wheat stripe rust, rice blast, and potato late blight will pose a great threat to food production.

On 30 Oct., 10 ministries including the MEE, NDRC and MPS, together with the governments of 11 provinces (municipalities) including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Hebei, issued the Action Plan for Comprehensive Treatment of 2020–2021 Autumn and Winter Air Pollution. It's specified in the Action Plan that efforts should be made to meet the goals in cutting overcapacity and eliminating backward capacity in accordance with the previously released structure adjustment plans for iron and steel industry, building material industry, coking industry, chemical industry and other industries. That means there will be large-scale factory closures and the producers will stop production until next spring.

At the end of Nov., according to CCM's monitoring data, the price of triazole fungicides went through varying changes. Some products saw their price rise since the cost of the raw materials went up, while others experienced a drop in price as a result of weak demand. At the same time, the price of strobilurin fungicides remained stable compared with the same period of the previous month.

According to the import and export data from Tranalysis, in June, 2020, Chinese mancozeb was mainly exported to Brazil, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Colombia and Panama. Those destinations imported a total of 939.97 tonnes (actual amount) of mancozeb products from China, or 708.86 tonnes when all the products are measured by a content of 100%.

The composite index of CCFI in mid-Nov., reached 1,107, a growth rate of 34.42% compared to the average CCFI of the entire 2019. With the increase in the freight rate of export containers, overseas companies experienced a significant rise in the cost of purchasing Chinese fungicides.

On 27 Oct., as required by relevant laws and regulations, the ICAMA released the 10th group of agrochemicals to be approved for public review. The thiabendazole 6% FU from Shandong United Pesticide is included in the list. The product is to be registered to deal with garlic scape gray mold (during storage period).

Phenamacril is a type of fungicide independently developed by Jiangsu Pesticide Research Institute. The company once increased its phenamacril TC capacity from 150 t/a to 1,000 t/a through a technology upgrading project. After that, the company built a 4,000 t/a phenamacril formulation project which now has been put into full operation. The project has added to the company a capacity of phenamacril 25% SC and phenamacril&middot;tebuconazole 48% SC.

According to CCM's monitoring data, the ex-works price of China's myclobutanil TC shot up in early Nov. According to market feedback, in Nov., the whole agrochemical industry started to stock up again, which has gradually cut the available inventory on the market. Moreover, the rising cost of raw materials at this stage has pushed up the production cost. As a result, the low price caused by high inventory has rebounded periodically. In addition, domestic myclobutanil TC producers worked below capacity, which has led to a tight supply. All these have driven up the price of myclobutanil TC.

On 25 Sept., 2020, a fire broke out in Anhui Juyi's plant in the Circular Economy Demonstration Park in Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province. Because of that, the plant was later required to suspend production for rectification. Since then, Anhui Juyi has been working hard to deal with the aftermath of the fire in an attempt to reduce losses and negative impacts. Besides, it has carried out a comprehensive self-examination of the plant and is addressing the hidden dangers, striving to resume production and operation as soon as possible.
