At the end of Oct., Ningxia Wanxiangyuan's flavor essence and spices projects with annual output of 68,700 tonnes passed the environmental impact assessment. The main products of the project include sucralose (1,000 t/a) and acesulfame (5,000 t/a).

On 15 Nov., the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement was officially signed. According to the agreement, China's tariff on syrup products imported from 10 ASEAN countries will be reduced to 0%–5%, and the reduction of import cost may lead to the further increase of import volume, which will adversely affect the prices of domestic sugar and syrup products.
