The price of corn as raw materials in Dec. reached the highest level of this year, driving the price of the high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) up. Affected by a high raw material price and rebounding demand, the price of HFCS is expected to stabilize at a high level in the short term.

On 14 Dec., Puyang Guomi's 20,000 t/a xylose conversion and expansion project was exhibited for public inspection. After the completion of the project, the company's overall capacity of xylose will stand at 20,000 t/a. Now the company can produce 6,000 tonnes of xylose per year.

On 3 Dec., Bailong Chuangyuan's IPO application was approved by the CSRC and the company will list on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The raised funds, a total of USD106.19 million (RMB700 million), will be used for the 30,000 t/a soluble dietary fiber project, the 10,000 t/a isomaltose project, the 6,000 t/a crystalline maltitol project, repayment of bank loans and supplement of working capital.
