Sweeteners China News provides you with real-time intelligence on China's sugar and sweeteners market.

China is one of the world's largest producers of sweeteners, dominating the global market for many high-intensity sweeteners such as saccharin, cyclamate, acesulfame-K (Ace-K), stevia, aspartame, sucralose, glycyrrhizin, alitame and neotame. Consumption is also rising rapidly in China thanks to the increasing popularity of sugar-enriched food and beverage products.

However, many sectors are mired in overcapacity, with prices dropping so low that Chinese producers are in danger of being hit by anti-dumping measures in key export markets. Meanwhile, companies are struggling to upgrade their production technology and adapt to much stricter environmental regulations.

Sweeteners China News will help you stay ahead of the game in this fast-changing market with real-time reporting on the entire sweeteners industry chain, from raw materials to end consumption. This includes:

According to CCM's price monitoring, China's ex-works price of crystalline xylitol achieved a MoM increase in Feb. 2017, because the supply of raw materials were small and crystalline xylitol production was halted after rigorous environmental inspections. In the first half of 2017, an inadequate supply of raw materials and thorough inspections on xylitol enterprises pushed up xylitol price. However, in the second half of 2017, the prices of xylose and corn are expected to fall, and xylitol price will swing due to the continous environmental inspections.

On 17 March, 2017, Anhui Jinhe released its full-year 2016 financial report, declaring a YoY increase in sales and net profit. It revealed that the increase resulted from a YoY increase in sales of acesulfame-K and sucralose as well as an increase in the gross profit margin of basic chemical products. Given that chemical production is a focus for environmental protection, the output of acesulfame-K and sucralose will remain low and their prices will accordingly be high. Therefore, Anhui Jinhe's financial performance in 2017 will continue to benefit from the sale of these two products.
