Glyphosate China Monthly Report provides you with real-time intelligence on China's glyphosate market.

China is the world's largest producer of glyphosate, with 80% of the glyphosate produced in China being exported. Glyphosate is also still by far the most popular herbicide among Chinese farmers.

However, the industry is facing a number of serious long-term challenges. Increasing crop resistance threatens to make glyphosate less attractive to farmers, while research linking the product to cancer could lead to several key export markets banning the product altogether. Meanwhile, Chinese producers are struggling to comply with tough new environmental regulations and cope with severe industry overcapacity.

Glyphosate China Monthly Report will help you stay ahead of the game in this fast-changing market with real-time reporting on the entire glyphosate industry chain, from raw materials to end consumption. This includes:

  • Breaking news from China and abroad
  •
  • The latest market data, including price information for raw materials, intermediates and end products, import/export data, production, consumption, operating rates, etc.

The "three phosphorus" special supervision and rectification campaign along the Yangtze River has been drawing attention. The environmental protection industry has been boosted by the phosphorus chemical upstream and downstream sectors. High-tech company Jiangsu Helper intends to help phosphorus chemical enterprises carry through national environmental inspections. Therefore, the phosphorus chemical industry will not be significantly impacted by the "three phosphorus" and related environmental policies and checks.

In Aug., Chinese glyphosate export volume grew by 5.67% YoY – glyphosate TC figures rose by 20.50%, whilst glyphosate formulations slipped by 2.77%. However, average export prices of glyphosate dropped by 9.92% YoY – glyphosate TC and glyphosate formulation prices down by 10.43% and 12.13% YoY respectively.

Average ex-works prices of glyphosate TC slipped to about USD3,535/t (RMB25,000/t) in early and mid-Oct. Currently, Chinese major producers have still remained their normal operating rates, despite low transactions. Prices of main raw materials also dropped.
