As most Chinese sodium acetate is of low added value product, opportunities lie in high added value products for Chinese sodium acetate producers. However, it is unwise to enlarge the capacity in next two years under the current global economic uncertainties. For multinational companies, whose production cost is higher than Chinese producers, the market space of industrial grade sodium acetate is very limited. However, there is good opportunity in food sodium acetate as some multinational food companies have set up plants in China, most of which use food grade sodium acetate. Another opportunity is reagent grade sodium acetate because Chinese producers are disadvantage in reagent grade sodium acetate. In the future, facing uncertain economy, it is an opportunity, but also a challenge for Chinese and multinational companies to capture China's sodium acetate market with different advantage and strategy.
