Description:
With the release of Renewable Energy Law in Feb. 2005, China's wind power installed capacity has kept increasing with growth rate of over 100% for three years and took the lead in Asia in 2008, with the cumulative installed capacity of 12.2 GW, including new capacity of 6.3 GW. Besides, it is expected to double the installed capacity in 2009 and overtake Germany and Spain to rank the second in 2010, with its total installed capacity exceeding 30 GW, meeting the 2020 target ten years ahead of time.
China's wind power industry is highly policy-driven. Apart from Renewable Energy Law, the Medium and Long-term Development Plan for Renewable Energy, stipulating that all the utility enterprises have to develop non-hydro renewable energies, have also largely promoted the domestic wind power development.
Driven by the fast growing wind power market, Chinese suppliers of wind turbines and components are growing stronger with the stretching supply chain. Besides satisfying the domestic demand, these companies are set to start entering global market to compete with the international rivals. With the fast capacity expansion, China's wind power developers have also tried to explore the offshore wind power.
According to Chinese Wind Energy Association, there have been 67 wind turbine manufacturers in China by 2008. Of these active manufacturers, who are the main players and what are their advantages? And who will be the top wind power developers? What is the prospect in the following 5 years?
This report focuses on the current situation as well as the development trend of China's wind power industry to 2014, covering the aspects such as wind resource, government's supporting policy, current wind power development (onshore and offshore, wind turbines and components, provincial situation), top wind power developers (installed capacity evolution, distribution, related wind turbine suppliers), as well as top suppliers of wind turbine and components. Based on the comprehensive understanding of this industry, the development trend to 2014 and potential opportunities are also included.
Through this report, the readers can obtain a comprehensive landscape of China's wind power industry and have a better understanding of the major wind power players, including wind power developers and wind turbine and component suppliers.

This report aims to disclose the future performance of China's wind power industry up to 2014. To indicate the future landscape, CCM International has primarily introduced the following parts in the report.
 China's wind resource;
 Policies and other influencing factors;
 Wind power industry;
 Wind power equipment manufacturing industry;
 Wind power development in main provinces/regions;
 Main players in China’s wind industry.
I Wind Power Market in China
I-1 China's wind resource
China covers XXX million square kilometers land area, with a coastline stretching XXX kilometers. On the huge land area, China has over XXX billion kilowatts onshore wind resource at XXX meters above ground level. The richest wind resources are distributed along the southeastern coastline area and in Northeast China, North China and Northwest China. Significantly, China has rich offshore wind resource that is three times that of its onshore…
I-3 Wind power industry
China's wind power industry has undergone three stages in its evolution:
 The initial demonstration period (1986~1993)
 The industrialization period (1994~2002)
 The mass and domestic production period: (2003~present)
II Wind turbine industry
II-1 Wind turbine
Driven by the fast-growing wind installation capacity, the wind power equipment manufacturing industry is booming in China. Currently, China is one of the largest wind turbine markets in the world. According to Chinese Wind Energy Association, there are XXX wind turbine manufacturers in China now, up from XXX in July 2007. Of these wind turbine manufacturers, XXX are state-owned companies, XXX private enterprises, XXX joint ventures and the other XXX are wholly foreign owned companies.
Through purchasing production licences or jointly developing manufacturing technology with foreign companies, Chinese manufacturers have acquired the manufacturing technology and realized batch production for XXX kW or smaller …
III Main regions developing wind power
By 2007, the wind installation capacity in China had been mainly distributed in Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, and Heilongjiang.
