Description:
It is the latest report about sodium borohydride production, consumption and I/E situation in China.
China’s sodium borohydride capacity has become superfluous but the production technology remains backward. With the superfluous capacity, China now has become the net exporter of sodium borohydride and its export volume has been increasing year by year. Despite the overcapacity, there still will be new capacities to be launched in 2010, which will intensify market competition. Unlike overseas market, domestic consumption is concentrated in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Sodium borohydride consumption in each downstream sector has different prospects.
In this report, CCM focuses on following aspects:
 Most competitive producer in China
 How domestic producers cope with fast increasing capacity?
 Major downstream products in China
 Major end users and their consumption situation in 2009
 Sodium borohydride consumption trend in the next five years
 Major exporters, origins and destinations
 Opportunities and challenges in this industry
This report can be of great help to sodium borohydride producers, technology suppliers, traders, overseas end users to grasp business opportunities.

As a selective reducing agent, sodium borohydride is widely applied in organic synthesis. But it is facing challenges from other reducing agents as well as the synthesis route changes at present.
The situation that China’s sodium borohydride supply depended on imported sodium borohydride in 1990s has changed. At present, China’s sodium borohydride capacity has become superfluous, reaching XXXXt/a in 2009, while output was only XXXXtonnes, XXXX% of which came from the top four producers.
China’s total sodium borohydride capacity is expected to increase by XXXXt/a to XXXXt/a in 2010, as two existing producers will enlarge their capacities and one new player will enter into its production. With the capacity expansion, competition in sodium borohydride market will be intensified, especially when its domestic and overseas demand is increasing at very slow pace.
In 2009, total domestic consumption of sodium borohydride amounted to XXXX tonnes, with pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals as main consumption fields and the east of China such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai as main consumption regions.
Sodium borohydride consumption in pharmaceuticals that accounted for XXXX% of its total consumption will slowly grow in the future though some pharmaceuticals have promising market prospect. One factor is that sodium borohydride is facing great challenges from competing products like potassium borohydride with low price.
Unlike pharmaceuticals, sodium borohydride consumption in agrochemicals production has a bright future prospect. Current consumption in agrochemicals is not large at present, accounting for only XXXX% of the total consumption.
Sodium borohydride consumption in other industries is too little to change the consumption structure in the next five years. And absolutely added demand for sodium borohydride is small in the next five years.
Sodium borohydride export in 2009 reached about XXXXtonnes,XXXX% of which was exported by Shanghai Shenyu. Major export destination is India whose import volume during Jan. ~ Nov. 2009 accounted for XXXX% of China’s total export volume. The export will not increase fast in the near future.
