Executive Summary

By June 2010, China has XXX active maleic acid producers. Total output of maleic acid in 2009 was XXX tonnes, accounting for XXX% of total capacity of maleic acid in 2010.

In 2010, Chinese maleic acid producers mainly produce pharmaceutical grade maleic acid and electronic grade maleic acid, only Jiangsu Wuxi Dongjiang Lihua Chemical Plant produces technical grade.

Production of Maleic acid mainly concentrates in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan province and Shanghai, where are closed to the downstream market such as unsaturated polyester resin,which uses maleic acid as its raw material.

Most of maleic acid is used to export. XXX% of maleic acid is exported in China in 2009. Export volume of maleic acid in the first quarter of 2010 was XXX tonnes with the average export price of USDXXX/kg, while in 2009 it was XXX tonnes with the average export price of USDXXX/kg.
