As of Nov.2008, there are xx active producers of MP in China. MP capacity in 2008 is xxxxt/a, the same with 2007. But the output was only xx tonnes in the first half of 2008.
The average quoted price of MP is USDxx/Kg (RMBxx/Kg) in Chinese market at present. MP price kept increasing in the first half of 2008. In Aug, it was up to USDxx/Kg (RMBxx/Kg). Then it began to decrease in September because of the price drop of raw materials.
In 2007, the consumption volume of MP in domestic market was less than xx tonnes, with xx% of it consumed by the flame retardant plastics industry.
Most MP produced in China is exported, while China imports little MP every year, since quality of home-made MP is more or less the same as imported MP. In Jan-Aug 2008, China’s total MP export volume was xx tonnes.
