Melamine cyanurate (MCA) was not widely applied in China several years ago, but in recent 2 years, China’s consumption volume of MCA has increased fast since it can be used as a halogen-free flame retardant to meet the increasingly strict environmental requirements. As of Nov. 2008, China has xx MCA producers. Currently, the total capacity of MCA in China is about xxxxt/a, and the output of MCA in the first half of 2008 reached xxxx tonnes.
The domestic MCA production kept stable in the first half of 2008, but it is likely to face challenges in the second half of 2008 due to the global finance crisis. The output of MCA in 2008 is predicted to be less than that in 2007.
MCA can be used as lubricant, adhesive, retardant, etc. About xx%~xx% of MCA in China is consumed in nylon industry to improve the flame retardancy.
In the first 8 months of 2008, China’s export volume of MCA is xxxx tonnes, with the average export price of USD xx/kg.
