Description:
With over 15 years efforts, China has become a major MIPA supplier in the world, and about 50% of its production is exported to more than 30 countries/regions nowadays. China is not only a major production base of MIPA, but also a large consumer.
Now the ban on glyphosate 10%SL in China along with steady demand of glyphosate IPA salts in the world bring new business opportunities for MIPA market, since glyphosate 41%IPA is the best substitute of glyphosate 10%SL.
This report presents a comprehensive view of Chinese MIPA from aspects of production, technology, raw materials, import & export, consumption, etc., and also provides answers to the key issues of Chinese MIPA industry as follows,
√ Who are the major players? How about the production distribution?
√ How about the export situation of Chinese MIPA? Who are the major export destinations? Who are the active exporters? How about the export price change?
√ At present, in what field MIPA is applied in China? What is the development trend of MIPA from 2010 to 2014?
√ What is the key factor influencing the price? What is the future trend of MIPA price?
You can also figure out the analysis of driving forces and barriers for Chinese MIPA industry, as well as the forecast on MIPA development in China from 2010 to 2014.

Like many products in China, MIPA, one important fine chemical intermediate, has witnessed oversupply for years even with only six active producers nowadays. Currently no newcomer enters into Chinese MIPA business and no new construction of MIPA has been carried out.
Zhejiang Xinhua is the top MIPA producer in Asia with capacity of xxt/a, and it produced about xx tonnes MIPA in 2009.
The domestic production of MIPA is mainly distributed in East China, with Zhejiang, Shandong and Jiangsu being major production bases.
There are two production pathways namely isopropyl alcohol route and acetone route, and now almost all MIPA producers take the latter route with imported raw materials, since the CIF price of imported raw materials is much lower than the market price of domestic raw materials.
Impact of acetone on MIPA will increase in the coming few years, since the cost of MIPA by isopropyl alcohol route is much higher than that by acetone route nowadays. Jiande Jianye, originally taking isopropyl alcohol route to manufacture MIPA, witnessed a sharp decline of sales income, later, it established a xxt/a MIPA unit by acetone route and put it into commercial production recently.
The global demand for Chinese MIPA has increased rapidly in recent years. China exported about xx tonnes MIPA in 2009, almost twice of that in 2006. The domestic demand also increases steadily, along with the sustained growing demand of glyphosate IPA salts, atrazine, etc.
In China MIPA is mainly applied in production of glyphosate IPA salts (41%IPA and 62%IPA), atrazine technical, bentazone technical, regulating agent for plastics, pharmaceuticals, etc. Glyphosate IPA salts and atrazine technical are the top two end use segments, whose total MIPA consumption in 2009 was about xx tonnes, accounting for about xx% of the domestic apparent consumption of MIPA in the same year.
Chinese MIPA industry tends to develop stably in the coming few years with global economic recovery, promotion of glyphosate 41%IPA in China as well as global promotion of GM crops especially GM soybean and GM corn, etc.
