Executive Summary

Lambda-cyhalothrin is a kind of pyrethroid insecticides that are widely used in fruits, vegetables, cotton and other crops thanks to its high insecticidal activity and less use volume in per unit area. On one hand, taking the advantages of high efficiency and low toxicity, this insecticide has been used on a large scale in agriculture; on the other hand, comprehensive use has also caused such concern as environmental pollution and product safety.

As of Jul.2009, there have been about XXXX active lambda-cyhalothrin technical producers in China, with their total production capacity estimated to be XXXX t/a in 2009. But the output was only XXXX tonnes in 2008. XXXX% of the output in 2008 was for export with the remaining for domestic formulation production

In the past two years, the price of lambda-cyhalothrin technical has fluctuated slightly. But in the periods of Feb.--Apr. 2009, lambda-cyhalothrin technical price experienced severe fluctuation due to price rise of raw materials.
