Executive Summary

Flutriafol, a triazole fungicide, is used on many different types of plants including crops, fruit, vegetables, and turf by foliar spray and used for seed treatment as well. Flutriafol is highly effective against many different fungal diseases, especially powdery mildews, rusts, and many leaf-spotting fungai. Flutriafol is today registered in many countries.

In 2004, flutriafol production was small-scale in China and producers all adopted Grignard reaction route. In 2007, a new route (herein after named Sevencontinent route) was developed by Jiangsu Sevencontinent Green Chemical Co., Ltd, and almost all producers adopted the Sevencontinent route since 2008.

China’s flutriafol industry has been heavily depending on foreign market. In 2008, China’s total flutriafol technical (100%) output was XXXX kg, XXXX % of which was exported. XXXX is the largest export destination of Chinese flutriafol xx% TC and XXXX is the largest export destination of Chinese flutriafol xx% SC. Only XXXX kg were consumed in China, accounting for XXXX % of China’s total output in 2008.
